Intro to Derby teaches all the skills needed to play roller derby safely. Skills include, but are not limited to: how to skate efficiently, how to stop, how to fall safely, how to hit legally, skating as a team, and learning basic strategy and gameplay.
Once a skater successfully completes the Intro to Derby program and can demonstrate safe gameplay, they advance to our rookie team, Our Ladies of Pain for our spring/summer season.
COST – $100 program fee + $30 insurance (+ roller derby skates and gear)
*Skaters may begin Intro to Derby in January however, for skaters with little or no skating background we HIGHLY recommend joining the full program to be ready for gameplay for our April-September derby season*
